Drayton, one of the oldest communities in North Dakota, is located on the Red River of the North.  It is 30 miles south of the Canadian border and 45 miles north of Grand Forks, ND.  Drayton is an important crossroads for freight transportation and tourists because it is located on Interstate 29 and ND State Hwy 66/MN State Hwy 11.  This is a direct trade route between Canada and Mexico.
