The city of Strandquist is located in Marshall County, between Karlstad and Newfolden on U.S. Highway 59. Strandquist calls itself the the Home of the Whitetail Deer. This title is more than evident with the large deer population in the area. Interest in wildlife and outdoor activities such as hunting and snowmobiling are very popular with residents of the area as well as visitors.
Strandquist is located less than twenty minutes from Old Mill State Park, to the southwest, and Lake Bronson State Park, to the northwest. A number of parks and attractions, in the region, make it possible to plan activities all year long.
